Thursday, March 26, 2020: A Vaccine for COVID-19
Special Note:
Thanks so much for all of you who have been standing in the gap with us in these prayer moments listed each day on our website. We understand that many of you pray at different times of the day but wanted to ask that you join us in a “corporate gap moment” each Friday at 10am. We are asking that we all stop for 10 to 15 minutes at our computers, in the offices while maintaining distancing to pray corporately.
Even in a time of social distancing, it is still important for people of faith to come together. Our prayer will center on those who are grieving and oppressed by fear. We will also pray for wisdom for our local and national leaders.
While there is much talk of a “new normal” following COVID-19, the world will never be quite as it was before, and with this sort of change comes grief. Please join me tomorrow in spirit wherever you are physically to pray for one another, our community and our world, taking strength from Our Lord Jesus Christ and praising him always. Thank you all, Dr. Joe
Prayer Emphasis for the day: A Vaccine for COVID-19
Scripture: The Lord will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday. Psalm 91:4-6
Corporate Prayer: Our protector and our refuge, you have given us brilliant minds and beautiful hearts to care for one another. We pray now for all those who are working on a vaccine for COVID-19. Replace their stress with comfort, weariness with inspiration and worry with confidence. Work through their mind, body, and soul to eliminate the spread of this disease. Amen.
Personal Prayer: Spend a few minutes in personal prayer for all the doctors and scientists working on a vaccine.
