Day 18 – Faith

Day 18 – Faith

He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 1:10-13, NIV

Jesus came and dwelt among us, yet many could not, or chose not, to recognize him or receive him. The creator of the universe voluntarily withstood this rejection and denial to present his life-saving persona to those who, by God’s ultimate grace, believed in his name and put their faith fully in him. Jesus is still revealing himself today and offering faithful believers that wonderful “right to become children of God.”

Prayer Guide:

  1. Thank God for inviting you with that extraordinary calling to be children of God.
  2. Take time to reflect on God’s perfect plan to connect with his creation by inhabiting the body of humankind and living among us. Even when he knew he’d not be known, received or embraced by so many.
  3. Remind yourself time and again that you, who have believed on his name, have become children of God.
