Day 14 – Faith

Day 14 – Faith

Wait for the LORD be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

Psalm 27:14, NIV

Our society has lost the ability to wait. Technology gives us instant answers, overnight deliveries and on-demand streaming that entertains us endlessly. We can become impatient even when just a few minutes prevents us from the instant gratification. But at times the Lord asks us to wait. Maybe it is through the waiting that we are reminded that he is right beside us, giving us his strength and stirring our faith.

Prayer Guide:

  1. Find a quiet place to set aside the world’s weapons of mass distraction and just be still. Breathe deeply and quiet your mind for a short time.
  2. Have the courage to ask the Lord to help you to wait.
  3. In what areas is the Lord asking you to wait, rather than to rush out on your own? Pray specifically for these areas.
  4. What do you learn through the process of waiting on him? Does waiting increase our faith? Remember that God gives us strength, he sees us, hears us and will always answer us.
