Day 10 – Love

Day 10 – Love

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:14, NIV

The miracle of divine love, the Christmas story, the Gospel is summarized here. The eternal “Word” of God, the Son of God, Jesus, became finite man and dwelt among us to reconcile us to himself so that all who believe in him would be saved. John chose the Greek word “logos” to reach both Greeks and Jews familiar with the term. In Greek philosophy this title was given to the creative cosmic force of the universe, and to the source of wisdom, power and intelligence. The Jews applied this term to the Messiah, a personal God. The creator God’s clearest communication and representation of his nature, truth, will and wisdom is manifested through Jesus. The Word, Jesus, existed before time and before all things came into being. In becoming a man Jesus manifested outwardly his internal divine essence. His glory was exhibited in his love, power, truth, mercy, justice, holiness, patience, wisdom. The Creator God chose to dwell among us by becoming a man. His truth still teaches us, and his grace gives us all we need to love and reconcile with God and one another.
