Day 5 – Hope – 2022

Day 5 – Hope – 2022

Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.

Luke 2:25-26, NIV

Talk about HOPE! Here is this old man named Simeon, a religious leader, though not like the other religious leaders of that day and age. He was devoted to the LORD and was promised by the Holy Spirit that his life would not end until he saw the promised MESSIAH. What an honor!

Can you imagine your life so in tune with the God of Abraham that the Holy Spirit would reveal your future to you? Well, if your hope is in our Savior Jesus Christ, your future has been revealed and promised in the Bible. In the Old Testament, Jeremiah 29: 11-12, God makes this promise, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

  1. Thank God right now for being a promise keeper.
  2. Ask God to show you where he has made and kept his promises in your life.
  3. What are you hoping for now? Ask God to reveal to you his purpose and plan for your life.
  4. Pray for those who don’t know Jesus and for their salvation.
  5. Thank God for the gift of Jesus Christ, salvation and eternal life!
