Day 2 – Hope

Day 2 – Hope

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God Reigns!”

Isaiah 5:2-7, NIV

We do not often see feet as beautiful. Not hair, eyes or lips, but feet. But it is hard to get anywhere without your feet. Jesus did his ministry on foot, walking to villages over uneven hills, challenging mountains, unfamiliar valleys and rough fields. He didn’t wait for people to come to him, but brought hope to a dark world by walking to where people needed to hear messages of good news, peace and salvation. He demonstrated that God reigns by walking with those in need and showing that he cared deeply for them. He still walks with us today.

Prayer Guide:

  1. Have you asked God to “guide your feet” through the difficult areas of your life so that you can bring the good news?
  2. Have your feet taken you to places that demonstrate that “Your God Reigns” or are you just wandering through life hoping to end up where God wants you? Ask God about it!
  3. Do people say about you that wherever you plant your feet a dark world is shown the light and hope is given to those in need?
  4. Have you thanked God for your feet and do you believe what Jesus said: “The person who trusts me will not only do what I’m doing but even greater things?” Do you understand you will be required to walk with him?
