Day 7 – Be the Light from Vikki Luna

Day 7 – Be the Light from Vikki Luna

The people walking in the darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.

Isaiah 9:2

How can we bring the light into someone’s dark, hopeless world?

At The Light-House, we strive to offer hope to women who have wandered for years in utter despair. Most have been beaten down, lied to and been told they are the worst of society. The result lack of self-confidence. Many in their darkest hour find their way to The Light-House, but it takes courage to ask for help. Once a woman walks through our doors, she is greeted with joy and total acceptance. Jesus is introduced as her answer and only true hope. He meets women where they are and reveals himself in real and tangible ways. With the first glimpse of his goodness, each lady begins to understand her true worth. Once a woman comes to recognize that God loves her so much that he sent his only son, Jesus, into this world just to save her, she begins to see the light. God offers a greater love than she ever hoped for. At the Light-House, we are privileged to walk alongside each woman, previously blind and without hope, and help them see the light. We guide them to the ultimate prize for life: Jesus. It brings an immeasurable amount of joy for us but, more importantly, for the women we serve.

God may not have called you to start a nonprofit, but he did call each of us to bring light into someone’s world. Look around. Someone needs a smile. Someone needs a meal. Someone needs encouragement. Bring the light this Christmas season.

Father, thank you for using me to bring the light into someone’s world this Advent season. Amen.
